Power Qatar Summit 2015

Achieving Qatar’s Power & Energy Goals
Incorporating Solar Qatar

Qatar’s only premier power generation, transmission and distribution event Power Qatar Summit will take place on 26-27 October 2015 at the Ritz Carlton West Bay, Doha, Qatar. Held under the patronage of KAHRAMAA and incorporating the immensely successful Solar Qatar Summit, the event will attract over 300 senior level executives to discuss progress, future developments and best practices across industries and sectors for the State of Qatar.

One of the engines powering Qatar’s grand 2030 vision forward is power generation in all forms, be it solar, natural gas, or renewable energy. With an increasingly demanding population and spiraling rates of power consumption, the need for sustainable and renewable sources of energy is more acute than ever before. This is compounded by the emergence of Qatar as a key Gulf country in the general progress of the GCC region. Events such as the upcoming FIFA World Cup 2022 are testament to Qatar’s growing importance. However, resources must keep up with the pace of the rapidly unfolding socio-economic events in Qatar.

Robust economic development coupled with rapid urbanization and increasing consumption patterns have led to a keen focus on sustainable power generation in the GCC region in general and Qatar in particular. The population boom in the Middle East is expected to show substantial growth of 31% by 2025, with GDP growth projections of 4.3% by 2020. This culminates in tremendous pressure being exerted on the resources of the MENA region. The results can be observed across the region. On one hand, GCC countries are all set to invest over $300 billion energy projects by 2020, while on the other, $283 billion is expected to be invested within the MENA region’s power sector between 2014 and 2018.

The Power Qatar Summit 2015 will showcase several methods of power generation including plants, turbines and renewable sources such as solar Photo-Voltaic (PV) and CSP facilities. Presentations from the leading lights of the industry combined with active government support make this event truly a must-attend one. The summit will offer a premier platform to network and interact with industry experts and business leaders.

What Do Our Attendees Have To Say?

"The first impression I got when I attended this conference I see very good participation from world-wide. Really I didn’t expect this level of attendance, so thank you to the organizer and all the people that worked towards the success of this event. The most interesting thing that I saw is that there is all types of equipment not only solar cells, but all supporting equipment from cables, invertors and all other equipment associated with solar plants. It is very good to see this it for the first time in Qatar and this also shows how seriously Qatar is taking this. And this feeling is translated to companies that Qatar is serious about this, and they are here. Hopefully within a couple of years we’ll see a good amount of solar energy produced from Qatar."
